Program Overview
This seminar and FAM
trip program was launched in 1992 under the sponsorship
of Mexico's Ministry of Tourism.
The program is a two-part
educational effort aimed at building
Mexico product knowledge and sales competency within the retail travel
agent community throughout North America.
Who Should Attend
These seminars are developed
specifically for: Retail travel agents
with limited Mexico sales experience Retail travel agents
with advanced Mexico sales experience Tour operator reservations/sales staffs Group, meeting, and incentive sales coordinators
Certification
Participants will receive a certificate of completion after finishing the course.
Upon completion of the 2-step
program, agents are awarded the status of "Mexico Specialist" and allowed to display
their certification status to consumers.
Instructors
Having conducted educational
seminars for Mexico's Ministry of Tourism since
1992, our highly qualified instructors are ready to lead
each seminar. Our team of bilingual,
bi-cultural instructors have extensive travel industry experience, extensive Mexico travel experience,
and are excellent public speakers and presenters.

Part 1: The Seminar
The Seminar is a classroom-style workshop devoted to an overview
of Mexico as a leisure destination. Detailed information is provided via
a 300-page sales manual and
visual materials that portray the Mexico
tourism product. It includes information
about geography, history, climate, entry requirements, holidays, money matters, health and safety, shopping,
sports, ground transportation, dining, shopping, and more. Learn about beach
and inland vacation options - from traditional to lesser known
cities and resorts. Targeted market segments, ranging from golf and sport fishing to ecotourism and
studying Spanish, are also covered.
2000-01
Program
There will be over 30
seminars during our 2000-2001 series. They will be held in hotel meeting facilities in over 30 cities throughout the U.S. and
Canada. Seminars run from 8:15am to 1:15pm.
Course Description
Beginning with an overview of Mexico
as a country, this seminar gets down to
concrete trip planning guidance
and "insider tips" on making
the most of a Mexico visit.
Learn to sell Mexico like
an expert by accessing resources and boosting your
knowledge of Mexico's diversity and value. Discover
Mexico's special interest travel options with in-depth information about sports, eco-tourism, spas, honeymoons, weddings, cuising and cultural touring.

A $35.00 US per agent ($49 Canadian) enrollment fee includes morning coffee, delicious luncheon and face-to-face meetings with

Part 2: Fam Trips
Each seminar graduate
will be given the opportunity to attend a FAM trip to Mexico.
Trips will be conducted to over
ten destination areas. Registration fee: $169 covers lodging (double occupancy), sightseeing tours, local transportation,
property site inspections, and most meals. Special
discounted air fare is offered
via main sponsoring air carriers to all
IATAN-card agents.
