One of greatest natural attractions that can be observed in our country, is the grey whale is the coasts of southern Baja California.

The migration of the grey whale is a phenomenon that takes place every year close to the coasts of southern Baja California. There Mother Nature allows the visitors to marvel at these huge creatures which can grow up to 15 m long and weigh various tons.

Every autumn the whales set out for a long journey which starts in the cold Arctic waters and finishes, after 10,000 km, in the warm Pacific Ocean off the coast of Mexico. Once reaching the warmer latitudes, they give birth to their offspring that can be even 5 m long at birth and weight up to 500 kg. A short while after giving birth, the whales go back with their newborns to the North Pole, where they will remain the rest of the year, until it is time to migrate again.

One of the best places to check out these aquatic giants, is Guerrero Negro, in the southern Baja California, where the whales tend to get really close to the boats and even let themselves be touched by the hundreds of tourists that come to live this beautiful experience.
