BEACHES

 

In Puerto Peñasco and its surrounding areas you?ll find long beaches with clean sand and warm waters where you can enjoy various outdoor activities.

 

Santo Tomas. Located more than 100 km (62 mi) southwest of Puerto Peñasco. This group of beaches has moderate slopes and small waves, which are ideal for doing aquatic sports such as swimming, fishing and snorkeling.

 

La Choya. Located 10 km (6 mi) west of Puerto Peñasco, off Highway 37. This group of beaches with calm waters are optimal for fishing. Here you can catch flounder, shark and corbina.

 

Santa Rita. Lies 91 km (56 mi) southeast of Puerto Peñasco. This region?s nearly desolate beaches have gentle slopes and calm waters, which are ideal for taking a stroll along the shore or fishing.

 

Isla San Jorge. Located less than 20 km (14 mi) southeast of Puerto Peñasco by boat. This island has a coastline that stretches 10 km (6 mi) and is one of the most visited beach destinations in the region.
